With over 30 years of experience in research compliance and ethics, Cheryl Savini is a nationally and internationally recognized expert in both biomedical and social, behavioral, and educational research. Her extensive background includes 15 years of providing high-quality consulting services, with notable contributions in both civilian and military sectors. Cheryl has served as an IRB member and brings unique insights from her personal experiences as a research subject.
Her unwavering commitment to human research protections is demonstrated through numerous accomplishments that highlight her dedication to advancing knowledge and best practices in the field. Cheryl’s ongoing contributions underscore her expertise, leadership, and ability to drive meaningful change and foster innovation.
In 2022, she founded Savini Consulting LLC, a firm specializing in human subjects research, compliance, and integrity. Prior to this, she co-founded the HRP Consulting Group in 2009, which was acquired by the Biomedical Research Alliance of New York (BRANY) in 2016. She served as Senior Vice President and Managing Director from 2016 to 2022. Cheryl has had hands-on experience throughout her career as an IRB Administrator, Director, and Quality Assurance Manager.

Additional Contributions:
Cheryl has actively participated in Public Responsibility for Medicine and Research (PRIM&R) for over 20 years, serving on the mentoring program, poster committee, and conference planning committee. She has presented at numerous annual PRIM&R conferences.
Her published works include a contribution to Chapter 2 “Organizing the IRB Office” and 2.7 “Evaluation, Metrics, and Process Improvement” in IRB Management and Function, 3rd Edition, 2019 (Banker, Gordon, Hurley, Shriver, Eds), and has been featured in IRB Advisor for her insights on compliance strategies.
